AbouTheraFit
Origins of TheraFit
The inspirations for TheraFit began brewing in California — the City of Angels. More specifically, from a hospital bed in a rehabilitation clinic in Long Beach, where I was found after a death‑defying accident. A mortal accident that, at the young age of 21, stole the youthful vitality I was supposed to be out embracing. Instead, it placed me on the brink of life.
But what the fuck happened that brought me to this state of health? How can a broken back, broken neck, broken ribs, punctured lungs, and torn small intestines condemn someone to such misery?
A traumatic brain injury. A small crack in my skull transferred enough force to my fragile, malleable brain to knock me into a half‑year coma.
That’s what I learned from my friends, my girlfriend at the time, the police report, and my medical history. But the most painful and meaningful truth came from my family. They endured the hardest part — the agony of seeing me day after day, month after month, waiting for me in vain.
From my perspective, those six months passed like a snap of the fingers. Like going to sleep at night and effortlessly waking up the next morning — except waking up with the worst fuckin’ hangover imaginable.
There’s a big difference between waking up and getting up out of bed.
With a lateral broken body — a bedridden, dystrophied musculoskeletal system — I had to do the reps to rebuild myself from nothing.
And that’s how I found my passion for holistic wellness.
Movement should be accessible to everyone. As the founder, I saw firsthand how many people were left out of traditional fitness spaces — older adults, individuals with disabilities, and community members who needed support, not judgment.
So I created TheraFit League to change that.
Our programs are built with compassion, clinical knowledge derived from ASU academia, and a commitment to dignity. We design adaptive workouts, mobile wellness experiences, and community partnerships that meet people where they are. Every session, every piece of equipment, and every interaction is shaped by one goal: helping people feel strong, capable, and included.
